Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

1. Who we are

ErrorFix UK (errorfix.co.uk) is an informational website providing guidance on common household appliance error codes. The site is operated as a sole trader business based in the United Kingdom.

This policy explains what information — if any — we collect when you use this site, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

2. What we do not collect

ErrorFix UK is a read-only reference site. You do not need to create an account, register, or log in to use any part of the site. We do not collect, store, or process any personal information simply by you visiting or searching the site.

In particular, we do not:

  • Require you to register or create an account
  • Store your search queries or browsing history on our servers
  • Sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes
  • Build profiles on individual visitors

3. Contact form

If you choose to get in touch via our contact form, the information you submit (typically your name and email address, and any message you write) will be received by us and used solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list or share your details with third parties. Contact form submissions are retained only for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and are then deleted.

4. Cookies

Like most websites, ErrorFix UK uses cookies. Cookies are covered in full in our separate Cookie Policy, including exactly which cookies are set, what they do, and how to manage your preferences.

5. Affiliate links and third-party sites

ErrorFix UK contains affiliate links to third-party retailers and service providers (such as parts suppliers and engineer booking platforms). When you click one of these links and visit a third-party site, that site operates under its own privacy policy — we have no control over, and take no responsibility for, how those sites collect or use your data.

We recommend reading the privacy policy of any third-party site before providing them with personal information. For more information on our affiliate relationships, see our Affiliate Disclosure.

6. Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted on a UK-based web server. As with any web server, basic access logs may be recorded automatically by the server software (for example, your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request). These logs are used solely for security and performance monitoring purposes and are not used to identify individual visitors. Server logs are routinely deleted in line with our hosting provider's data retention schedule.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to request access to any personal data we hold about you, to request its correction or deletion, and to object to its processing. In practice, because we do not store personal data about site visitors beyond the limited circumstances described above, there is unlikely to be anything for us to provide.

To exercise any of your rights or if you have a privacy-related question, please contact us.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent data protection authority.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect when it was most recently revised. We encourage you to check back periodically if you have any concerns about privacy.
