What does the LG CE error code mean?
CE (Current Error) on LG machines mirrors Samsung’s CE — it means the motor is drawing more current than expected. This safety cutout prevents motor burnout and fire risk. Caused by a jammed drum, seized bearings, or a short circuit in the motor windings.
How to fix the LG CE error code
- Unplug immediately. Do not restart without investigating.
- Try rotating the drum by hand — it should feel smooth. Grinding, clicking, or stiffness means a mechanical obstruction or bearing failure.
- Check inside the front of the drum gap for coins, underwires, or small clothing items that may be jamming the drum.
- If the drum turns freely and nothing is obviously jammed, the motor or motor control board may have a short circuit — do not attempt to repair electrical shorts yourself.
- Call a qualified engineer for this fault if the drum is not obviously jammed.
