What does the LG UE error code mean?

UE (Unbalanced Error) means LG’s sensors have detected the laundry is unevenly distributed in the drum, preventing safe high-speed spinning. This is a protective measure. It is not a fault with the machine. LG machines have sophisticated balance detection and will try to rebalance automatically before throwing this error.

How to fix the LG UE error code

  1. The machine may pause and attempt to rebalance by slowly tumbling — wait a few minutes before intervening.
  2. If UE persists, open the door and manually redistribute the laundry evenly around the drum.
  3. Separate tangled items and ensure no single item is bunching on one side.
  4. For single heavy items, add 2–3 towels to balance the load.
  5. Check the machine is level — LG machines are particularly sensitive to uneven flooring. Use a spirit level and adjust the four feet until stable.
  6. Close the door and restart from the spin part of the cycle.
